Cams Cards and gobbledegook?

I have a fortec Passion HD with finally a working motorised dish with USALS.
so can get Hotbird etc with ease.
We now want to get a subscription Pay to view card for some x channels.

My problem is not sure what I need.
My STB has 2x CI slots. So do I have to get a ViaAccess Cam v.3 to be able to use the card. Or am I able to use the slot on a Diablo cam (or Dragon etc) Which enables using an official card while also being able to play with underworld etc.
