I am trying to build the ultimate home system and I have decided to go down the PVR route as supposed to HTPC as its less fiddly. What I would like to know is if the dreambox has a scheduler that can carry out the scenario below.

For e.g. Motorised Sat Dish is pointing to 28.2E and a program is currently being recorded.

10:29 Stop recording on 28.2E
10:30 I would like to schedule the dreambox to move the dish to 15W
10:31 I would like it to select channel DAD5
10:32 Start recording on Dad 5
10:40 Stop recording on Dad 5

ProgDVB has something similar but I am still yet to see a program/PVR that can be scheduled to move a motorised dish

Cheers for your help

Yes the DB can do that no problem:)

Yes, it has a timer function. If the programs are on different satellites it will move the dish.

It can do it, but somtimes it gets stuck in between. It is not failsaif, if your life depends on it...

If it fails 99% of the time is because the dish you are moving is too big for the motor. Or in less than ideal conditions such as wind.

Yes, this is a good point as my dish is 1,2 meter (which is the top limit for the SG).

Cheers for the info guys. What is the support for the 7025 like ? Any good and are there any cheaper alternatives ? By this I mean, linux based receivers that support enigma type of Linux ?

Cheers

The Technomate 9100 is Enigma based and is considerably cheaper. Plenty of references to it online, or try Alsat.

Do Technomate do a hi-def Enigma based version?
