I have not put a card in, yet. Just trying to set it up.

I don't know if the entry in the oscam.server is correct. I put this in, and got the message shown in the screenshot attachment.

Is aeskeys meant to be installed? I did not see package in the openvix repository. ( opkg list|grep aes

worked for me. just put it on France 2 for 10 mins.
one thing though... I did have to change the version of OSCAM that I was running in order to get it to work.

Thanks. Amazon just delivered the fransat card 10 mins ago. 26 euros.

I don't even know which way round I should insert the card.

Edision MIO+ 4K: Chip facing up, or Chip facing down?

Update: I tried inserting the Fransat card in both ways and there was nothing logged to /var/log/messages.

# grep sci[0-4] /var/log/*
# grep -i oscam /var/log/*

Found nothing, which I take to mean that it's not recognising the card being inserted.

I left the card in the reader for ten mins each time for good measure.

Does anybody know what programme name oscam uses for messages? I want to send it to syslog. Perhaps I can get some logging going.

Or even some further insight into getting this to work.

the best way of seeing what oscam is doing is by opening it with a webpage on a pc/laptop.
see if you can find the boxs ip address and then type it in a web browser (on a networked pc/laptop) .
it should look something like this your box ip:8888/status.html

How did you enable this on yours? I am using OpenVix 6.4

try deleting the # at the beginning. dont forget when you change something in oscam it must be restarted for the changes to take effect.

But it turns out that this Zoom out button does not zoom out. It hides the reader. FFS. Goodbye Fransat.

Why do they use *icons* instead of words that carry meaning. F'kin emojies. I hate GUIs.

# is the default prompt for root. It's what most users of Enigma2 will get when they log in give that security on enigma2 was never it's strongest point ;)

It can be set with export PS1="insert_some_shit_here_like_a_hash_or_some_random_string_of_chars"
You can change to whatever you like.

I had this at first.
looks like your using a version of oscam that is incompatible for fransat.
might be better if you deleted all versions of oscam from your box (including file extensions) and start again using the same version as me.
try googling oscam+ultracam 11.272-emu-r798.

Looks like I have to delete the entry from oscam.server, reboot, add the entry back, and then reboot ( because the /etc/init.d/ script does eff all ).

Then I can get Fransat back into the Reader list on the status.html page. Not that this makes any difference because it still does not work.
