Hi friends ..
I think the header says it all ..
I have a long cable run to the SG2100 motor ...and I know the motor will suck a few db ...particularly on such a long run ..
Can an in line amplifier be introduced to the cable run ?
..or will this prevent commands reaching the motor ?

I have an Engel amplifier, which I don't use. I tried it out once in the days of my Multitynne 45 cm dish.

I just tested it now, and it works with my TM2200 motor. So it seems in general like amplifiers allow the commands to pass to the motor.

However, from my limited experience (and what I have read many other times), these amplifiers also amplify the noise.

Also, for me the amplifier actually makes the SNR worse. For example without it, I just about get 12523 MHz H 27500 on Badr 25E, but with it plugged inline 12523 MHz is nowhere to be seen ;)

Probably best to stay away from using amplifiers.
