Can I motorize a multi lnb dish?

Hello Guys,
I have a fixed multi lnb dish TD110 [0.8w, 4.8e (main focus), 9.0e, 13.0e & 19.2e], is it possible if I motorize it and keep all the lnbs so that when I move the main lnb (4.8e) back to 4.8e from say 7.0e I can pick up channels from other fixed lnbs?
How can I make this dream possible (To use one dish as fixed dish/motorized dish) will I need two switches?:-worship

You could give it a try, no reason why not, but it would defeat the purpose of the multifeed, ie fast satellite switching.

If you are going to motorise you may as well remove the additional lnb's!

In truth there is little point in having extra lnbs on a motorised dish ...plus there would be complications ..
As you will no doubt realise the extra lnbs are usually offset at a staggered series of elevations on a fixed dish biased either side of the focus some higher and some lower depending on the sats they are pointing at ..
The only exception to this would be where the lnb at the focus is at the apex 0.8West..
In this case to the right and left of the focus the lnbs would be all lower ..again staggered by degrees ..
Now move the dish and these lnbs no longer hit any sats accurately..as they can't all follow a true arc ...only at the focus is this possible ..
So ..really extra lnbs are a bit pointless unless you can get a couple extremely close to the focus ..
I do this on my TD110 ..as one of them is a ka band lnb ...but this cannot truely follow the arc ..so I have preset its elevation to be optimised to hit 9 East ...but only on one side of the arc can it follow a true path ..the other side of the arc will show errors of accuracy ..
In short ...its a bit pointless unless you want an offset lnb to hit a specific target offset by a specific number of degrees at a specific point in the dishes travel..

You can still use all the extra lnbs by returning the dish to the exact point whereby the lnb at the focus hits its original intended target of course ..
but once motorised only the lnb at the focus will truely follow the arc..
..and if you want this then an 8 port diseqc 1.1 uncomitted switch is probably your best bet ..
..and is relatively cheap on ebay..
Make sure your receiver driving the motor supports diseqc 1.1 in the menus ..before getting one.

Yes agree with that.

Will my box (DM800S-HD Clone) (Supports DiSEqC 1.1) & (EMP-Centauri 8x1 DiSEqC) Switch be able to interact with the motor easily, what settings I need to change in the Setup Menu so that when I move the lnb at focus to its original target I will be able to switch b/w other lnbs & if I want to use motor then the lnb at focus can move to desired location without any issues?

I suspect though can't guarantee your receiver will handle the usals motor with the signal passed through the emp switch ..
Thats down to delay timings written into the software of the DM800...and as such Only trial and error will confirm ..
I would suggest If your'e going to do this that you set the focal lnb on port 1 ..easy to remember ..and ONLY Activate the usals motor on port 1 ...

So you menu tree would read ...

something like the picture...

...your problem is going to be the setup of actual satellites for example ..
you cannot seup chnnels scanned at say lnb posn 2 at both fixed and motorised ..
thus you'd have to reurn your dish to the pre motorized posn ...then perform scans of all offset sat positions with usals set to off and using their assigned ports....
All sats NOT pre assigned to a fixed position ...would then be scanned with usals on ...and using port 1 ..
its either or for some sats ... usals off and port assigned (dish at the original fixed posn)

or usals on ....port 1 assigned ..for all others..

Thanks very much for all the help.
I guess, If I still want to keep the extra lnbs & get the dish motorized (knowing they will only work when lnb at the focus hits its original intended target) I can get another receiver. I can put a twin lnb on the main focus. 1 cable from the twin lnb will go to the switch that will be connected to receiver 1. Second cable from twin lnb will go to the motor and to receiver 2. Will this work?
Thanks & Kind Regards
