I currently have a sky+hd setup with an small oval dish with twin lnb which feeds the sky box which has 2 sat inputs (dual tuner) (about 5m dish to receiver).

I now want to split this 'twin pf100 satellite coaxial cable' and have the paired cable not only running to my sky receiver but also to a new room which will have a dual tuner freesat receiver or dual tuner tv pc card (the new room is about 5m from the sky receiver).

My question is can I share my twin lnb dish between 2 dual tuner receivers and still be able to watch both at the same time and still source both dual tuners? and if so using what method of splitting/amplifying (I can do this outside or inside) should I use?

Cheers

No.

You need to replace the LNB with a Quad Output one.

Satellite feeds are two-way: Each tuner sends a switched voltage (13 or 18V) and a 22KHz tone to enable four "flavours" of signal : H or V polarity in Low or High Band.

So splitting cables causes conflicts and is not recommended.

If the dish was installed by Sky or their contractors in the last 9 years or so then you almost certainly already have a quad lnb and merely need to fit two extra cables (or a twin) from the lnb to required room. Sky have not installed dual lnbs for over 9 years.

Thanks for replying and the information ... I will check my dish as it is only about 3-5 years old.
