Need a little bit of help, very new to this so be gentle!

I have a 500s clone, have started to set it up and have done a scan but it will only find 15 transponders and 9 channels (ITV) so...

1. how do I get it to find the free to air channels?

any help would be great
Thanks
Roy.

Make sure all the frequencies are in the database using the Transponder edit function:

tried a couple of frequencies but no go, these are for the 28.5/28.2 astra, my dish will only see at 19.2 ? I live in Cyprus btw, I should have said that really, this is a long learning curve for me so appretiate ya patience.

If your Dish is aligned to 19.2E, then you simply cannot get Channels from 28.2/28.5E !

You will have to turn your dish to 28.2 to get channels from 28.2, is your dish motorised or not?

You should get most of Astra 2 - you may or may not get the BBC ITV & C4 channels, depending on how well your dish is set up and what the exact signal strengths are like in your location. You will struggle with some of the Eurobird 1 stuff.

rai uno, Yeah I realise that now, I didn't know it was at 19.2 before I looked, not sure why its set at 19.2 either if there are more channels available on 28.5?...as I said I'me a little....no alot new to this stuff so bare with me!
OK.. I need to move my dish to 28.5E...

aahh Analoguesat... you just answered my question re the postion of my dish, would it be better to get another dish?

The first thing you need to do is work out which satellite you currently have. If you get mainly German channels then you are on 19E. If you have some UK channels then you are on 28E.

OK I'm getting somewhere now, had the wrong sat selected:-DOH!

thanks for all ya help guys..I'll be back for some more info at some point I'm sure...

Have you got a Sky subscription?

With the appropriate softcams etc, your receiver should be able to read a Sky card.

Lol..ok fair enough...:p

I don't have a sky subscription any more...

Is it card sharing I need then? or is there another way?
