I notice when doing a search on the web that Dreambox clones crop up more than the real Dreambox. The prices of the clones are incredibly cheap and what amazes me is Dream Multimedia appear to take no action against those selling the cloned boxes. It looks like its become a free for all and considering the price difference can Dream survive with such a market loss? Maybe the clones are of an inferior quality but Dream have had and maybe are still having some quality problems. Dream Multimedia support in my experience is good and that costs money but when paying 60% more for a box than a clone it should be. My own belief is that Dream will have to cut their prices drmaticaly, produce a superior box to the DM8000 or go bust.
If the latter it would be a great loss to sat addicts because it takes money to R&D a great product. Its easy to copy anothers product but without R&D there is no great product and nothing to copy.
