Canal+ creates Canal+ events
Canal+ Group announced on December 26 it has signed an agreement to purchase Lyon-based company Occade Sport, specializing in the organization of sport events, and a venture between Occade and GMO Sports.
The new company will take on the name Canal+ Events and will integrate into Canal+, becoming part of the sport department headed by Alexandre Bompard. Canal+ Events will be managed by Occade founder and former tennisman Gilles Moretton.
Doing this, Canal+ aims at strengthening its position in the French sports market. The acquisition should be completed by the end of February.
