Canal+ declares war on football
Following the recent call for tenders for the 2008-2012 football seasons, Canal+ has declared war on the French Professional Soccer League (PSL).
Rights for the French soccer Ligue 1 have been split into 12 packages. Canal+, which has been broadcasting the French championship since 1984, has asked the French State Council to suspend the current call for tenders and has filed a suit against PSL’s consultation.
The league should decide over the future rights owners by the end of January.
