Cancelling sky contract after 26 years

I had been with sky since the analogue days..probably 1996 ish ......Canceled mine in October after getting fed up with the very very poor SD pic quality and the non stop Ads.... and sky offering free TV's ,laptops .half price etc to new customers ...while increasing my monthly sub every year ! .....don't miss it at all ....Very happy with my Humax Foxsat HDR's and FTA Sports from 19.2 ......

I had no idea Sky sold their UK subs into Germany.

^^^^^^ .....you have lead a very sheltered life .. .. or maybe just aving a laugh ...right ? ... ;-) ............

Happy new year to all on Sats Uk .....

Happy New Year to you also, Steve Steve (See, not so sheltered after all ;))

yep been with sky since 1990 now got a amazon fully loaded firestick so will be off loading them today what a saving £80 odd quid a month

I've taken the leap of faith this morning.Sky's gone replaced with Linux boxes (all legal viewing cards in there) and nowtv. We're just under 100 a month better off but more important i feel liberated.
im not sure if that is legal to do or not?

Very wise.

Sky is very much a game for the relatively wealthy.

You can legally watch foreign sub cards in the UK .

I'm surprised its still in existence!
freesat from sky is not that different to bbc freesat apart from a couple of extra channels which are free to view

Yes and their own forced to use EPG order, crap.

Another Sky classic!

On logging into my Sky account this morning, there was a red notice saying that it is 'unlikley' that after the 1st February they would be showing any of the Discovery Channels, which is really all I watch other than the free to air channels.
After eventually getting through to the cancellation department, I was told that they are still in negotiations, for which I then said why where they using the word 'unlikley'?
So I have now left it as call logged that I will cancel my subscription as of the 1st February, giving them what they have given me - 7 days notice- if the channels are lost for which I then got the standard Sky spille ' you do realise that you are in a 31 day cancellation contract?
Roll on the 1st February!!!
