Cannot view picture on pc

Hi all, am new to this setup, have looked on other threads but cannot sort problem. I can communicate with my dreambox 500s through enigma web interface, can change channels from pc but cannot view picture can anyone help please..

Have you installed VLC on your PC and set up your network for streaming?

Yep, as simple as that, just install VLC and then click on the video pid at the top of the enigma page, it will ask you which program you wish to use, browse to VLC and save it.

Thanks guys for repying, i have vlc installed, when i click the video pid on enigma a box opens up saying( please select subchannel), has a drop down with none in it, like i said above, i can control the box from pc but no picture.

Are you using internet explorer? If so, try it with Firefox.

When I left click on the vpid, it asks me if I want to open it.

just tried with firefox, but still no picture, should i be getting a picture when i click web x tv cause i dont, even through vlc i dont, any ore sugestions?

When you click on the vpid, what does it do? On mine it asks if i want to open the file

i got that message the first time and i chose vlc, now when i open it vlc opens a page which says downloads. and in that screen it has video.m3u. and nothing else happens

You probably have a later version of VLC, so what are the options on the downloads page?

video.m3u i click it and media player tries to open it then stops, do i need to change any setting in vlc?

See if you can find an older version of VLC, mine is 0.8.6c

just tried with your version , when i click on vlc link on enigma i get a download error saying. C:\Users\elv\AppData\Local\Temp\video-6.m3u could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.

Did you try on an FTA channel? Have you clicked on the vpid link at the top of the page.

To associate a .m3u file with VLC, either find a saved one or make a fake one using notepad and save it as test.m3u.

Then right click test.m3u, select "open with > choose program" and select VLC (and tick the "Always use selected program.." box).

There is no vpid link, it has a vlc button, now they aint even doing anything, can i not view picture on my pc from web x tv?
i can control the channels from there but no picture on pc

finaly found the vpid link ,saved file then opened it with vlc and does nothing, i cannot record to take screenshots, getting somewere (i think) when i click the apid link vlc opens and the sound of the movie im watching on tv works on the pc, vpid does not though, i hope this helps

Did you read the tutorial?

Is it an FTA channel? Did you press the play button on VLC?

Try different channels- sometimes they don't play first time.

Are you running any Peer to Peer software on your computer (or computers on your network)?

when i press the vpid link the vlc player does not open , it only opens when i press the apid, ive tried fta channels and other none work, ive got a wireless router for internet and that is how im connected, like i said sound works but not pitures

Does the status bar in your browser show:

when you hover over the vpid link (the hex part not the words vpid)?

Try this test:

1. Open notepad

2. Paste in this line:

http://192.168.0.10:31339/0,0107,13ec,13ed,13ee

(replace 192.168.0.10 with your Dreambox IP address).

3. Save it as test.m3u

4. Double click on test.m3u - if it doesn't open in VLC follow post #14
