Can't find Sky channels

I've a Triax TD-88 multiblock with two lnb. The dish is aligned to hotbird and I have the second lnb aligned to Astra2. I can receive BBC channels with 60% quality but the decoder can't find Sky UK channels. Any idea why?

What receiver are you using?

Have you had any strong winds lately?

Also, is this a new installation?
Can you receive other FTA channels?

It's a new installation done by myself (first attempt so I might have done something wrong).

I have an integrated receiver in my Panasonic TX-P50VT50 tv and a QVIART mini.

On the tv if I select freesat I get 210 channels and about 450 on other sat. The tv can't drive the diseqc so it only picks channels on astra2.

On the qviart I get 469 channels.

I can't find some transponder. I've tried both blind search and manually adding.

E.g. 12207V shows 90% signal 0% quality and no channels at all.

You are missing Band Switching.

As Analoguesat implies, your LNB settings are not correct.

Turn 22KHz on. That said, with Universal selected, the Tone On/Off should happen automatically: Is there more than one Universal option?

Specifically, you want Universal 9750/10600.

Ok changed the LNB type to 9750/10600. If I set 22KHz to Auto or on I get 0% quality. Setting it on Off gives me 56% (too low?) but wrong channels according to the list you gave me. Getting 12264H instead of 12110H.

Hmm.

The Auto 22KHz should be the correct choice for the Universal 9750/10600 to work correctly across the band.

I suggest you leave those settings, delete the channels and TPs you've got and then try a Blind Scan again.

If that fails, we need a third opinion!

Further.

On the off chance the receiver doesn't like changing parameters on the fly, try rebooting.

Ok I'm trying but since adding the TP manually didn't work I don't expect the blind scan to find the right/missing channels.

Could it be a broken LNB/diseqc or damaged cable (During the installation it got trapped behind a cambinet)?

As for scanning, just clutching at straws, to be frank.

But the cable damage could well be an issue. Have you got a couple of F Plugs and a barrel connector to enable you to cut out the damaged area?

I should think the LNB and Switch would be the least likely culprits. But can't be ruled out.

Tomorrow I'll buy a barrel connector and bypass the switch/swap the LNBs. Repairing the cable could be more complicated. Thanks for know. You thought me a lot.

How do you have the system cabled?
Two separate lnb´s on the dish into the diseqc, single cable from diseqc to house, then what?
Cable into Qviart and from loop out to tv? OR Splitter, one into Qviart and one to TV ?

On the diseqc switch do you have Hotbird on 1 ( A ) and Astra on 2 ( B ) or the other way round?

Ah, a third opinion - bang on cue!

Have you actually been able to view the BBC channels or are you accepting what the channel list is telling you? If you haven't been able to actually see a programme then I suspect you have the dish aligned to the wrong satellite.

Above point noted!

When you stated on your first post, bbc at 60 % was that via the built in tuner on the tv or via the Qviart decoder?
Are you receiving the Hotbird channels ok via the Qviart receiver, presumably via the HDMI input on the TV?
