As the missus is out partying tonight Ive got Captain Scarlet on the DVD. A couple of beers & the night is a good un.

Absolutely bloody fantastic - it must be well over 20 years since Ive seen some of the stories :D

Some of the physics of the stories are a bit far fetched but the storylines are brilliant :D

Well recommended if you enjoyed the series in the 1970's

They were the first puppets to use more realistically proportioned bodies. This was made possible by new smaller electrical servos that were fitted in to the heads to provide the supermarionation synchronised lip movement.

Despite that I still have an enormous soft spot for the earlier Thunderbirds. But they're all brilliant. Even the very early Four Feather Falls, Twizzle and Supercar.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Captain Scarlet was a favourite having watched all of the Supermarionation offerings. The pilot episode set up the series far better than others (though Stingray had the best opening theme tune).

It was also the only one deemed acceptable in 'Hypermarionation' form by the creator, but it lost much kudos when the Barry Gray theme was ditched.

Now that's something you shouldn't shout out loud in a crowded building.

How intimate does AS have to be for it not to matter though ?

Though the Mysterons plan to conquer the Earth,
This indestructible man will show what he's worth.
