Hi all , im new at this !!
Im useing a philips 1010 and a sky digibox for freesat .
I have both germany sat(astra16) and uk sat(astra 28) over my philips 1010 but from the 14th Dec my sky box is telling me that i have no signal !! could this have anything to do with my skycard running out ?
I brought the skycard over from UK about 2 years ago and it was set for the sky family programes or what ever its called , after the card run out(after a year) i could still get all the uk freeview stuff , great .
So whats went wrong ??
 
Welcome to the forum macbean

There is an ongoing cardswap with sky uk and many of the old blue cards are now being switched off. Wherever your card was registered a new white card should have been sent to that UK address.

BTW German Sky TV is on Astra 1 19 East

So its just a case of getting a new freeview card ?
I havent found 5 US or a number of other channels over my philips 1010 , Is this normal ?

Five US, Fiver are Encrypted - viewable with a valid FreesatfromSky Card, but not on a Free to Air Receiver.

"No satellite signal is being received" warning has nothing to do with the card expiring.
You obviously have a low signal issue.

Ök but why can i still get everything over my philips , apart from the five us ect !
 
Five US is on 12422H

Got a new DECT phone in the house by any chance?? If so switch all the base units off and see if the signal comes back!

If not switch off anything like BT Homehub unit one by one until the signals come back
 
What make and model of Digibox do you have and how old is it?

If the internal power supply is failing (and certain models are very prone to this) that can cause the "No satellite signal is being received" message.

not sure what all this means .
Nothing new in the house same rooter ect as normal
Can only mean that i need a new white car ?? not sure how old the digi box is 8 to years maybe .
I can still get all the bbc,s itv over my philips but it would be better to get them with cannel info ect .
 
If the Pace box is 8 years old then it's quite likely the power supply is marginal.

If you know anyone who's electronically knowledgeable you could ask them to see if the electrolytics in the power supply are bulging - a sure sign it's on the way out.
 
Hi Folks, I'm new here and am pretty non-savvy when it comes to staellites, but after reading the forum it seems like alot of fun twiddling with settings to get new channels..

Anyway, back to the plot. I've got my brothers old digibox with old card after he updated his subscription to the bells and whistles one (he's in UK I'm in Germany) Until recently, everything's been fine - we have a basic freeview setup with no subscriptions but are now getting the dreaded card warning.

I removed the card and found I can't get Channel 5 and related channels, but after swapping the sat cable to my other receiver (set at Astra 19.2 for the German stations) I was able to search and found Channel 5 as free-to-view on there.

Soooo, is it possible to program my sky box to get channel 5 etc without my card being inserted?

I know you're going to ask me what box I have, so I'll nip upstairs and get that and post it soon.
 
Channel 5 yes - its transmitted in the clear on one frequency.

Fiver Five US etc, no - they require a freesatfromsky card to decrypt..
