Card sharing vs Cloning

Hi I have been reading here that if you have two DMs you can put your sky card into one DM and share with another DM or many DMs in different houses using a card server.
However if there is only 1 DM in the house and the owner of the house has sky and does not want to have a DM himself is it possible to copy his sky card with a card reader/programmer I do realise this method will only allow the cloned card to work in his sky decoder exclusivly as it is paired but it would be able to be used in a DM
Has anyone tried this method or does a sky NDS card have "locked" data the can not be read by such devices ?

1) Not possible to clone Sky cards regardless where you want to use them
2) When posting, please post in the correct section, for instance your question is appropriate for the general dreambox forum and not in the guide section (as it is not a guide). Ok :)
 
And if anyone did manage it and openly shared their success, they'd better like eating porridge.
