CCcam 2.1.3 help

Hi I am trying to get 2.1.3 to run instead of 2.1.2 on a DM500 with dark star II.
There is no obvious way to remove 2.1.2 and although 2.1.3 loads and runs via blue button. Cccam Info says it is not found.
So does not run any encoded channels but FTA are OK.

I've tried a few options without success.
 
CCcam info will only show when you are on an encrypted channel as the file is not there when the channel is not encrypted, as far as I know.
 
That's fine. 2.1.2 shows all of the data no problem.

2.1.3 shows no info at all on encrypted channels.

Hence I believe I will need to get rid of 2.1.2 and replace with 2.1.3

Problem is how is the best way to do that?

If you can nou uninstall CCcam2.1.2 from the panle you will have to do it manually.
Make an ftp connection to your box.
Navigate to var/bin you will see CCcam_212 just delete the bin file.
Now try and install 2.1.3 from the downloads, bin only.
 
There is no conflict between 2.1.2 and 2.1.3, so no need to uninstall 2.1.2 unless you are running out of space. The fact that you get no info is caused by something else.

I would prefer not having redundant progs lying around so, on the basis that 2.1.3 will do all I need, I will follow Sonic's lead.

Its interesting (?) that CCCam.2.1.2 which came with dark star is in the /bin/ folder whereas 2.1.3 which I loaded from the web via yellow button has installed in /Var/Bin/ folder. Has now got me wondering if this is the root cause of 2.1.3 not working when 2.1.2 works fine.
Has anyone any suggestions on this?
 
that explains your issue. CCcam was pre installed in the image.
 
It gets worse!!

How the heck can I do anything with this? 2.1.2 is the only option available via the blue button (no common interface) so cannot stop it to delete it or replace with a renamed 2.1.3 etc

If only life was easy!!

Hi Mate,
Go to an FTA channel, Yellow button twice (Y2), addons uninstall panel, CCcam212 highlight, OK and is out. But first watch out the config file of your CCcam in order to reconfigure it when installing the new CCcam.

You can find the script that runs CCcam by doing the following:
find / -name *CCcam*
This will list all the script filenames that contain CCcam.
In Gemini this will include uninstall scripts - note the name of the image in the directory tree if you are using multiboot. You can then run the uninstall by entering the full path.
Here you will also find the scripts that execute the cams.
Gemini: .../usr/script/CCcam_2.1.3.sh
Nabilo: .../usr/camscript/Ncam_CCcam2.1.3.sh
where the .../usr will be <media/usborhdd/.../usr when using multi boot(meoboot)
or /usr when not using multiboot.
You can edit these files to run the correct binary (full path) and if you change the names, the changed name will appear in the cam selection panel.
You can also remove the script if you dont want it to be displayed, then remove the binary in the bin directory.
 
This is starting to sound like a bogus image you're using. Did you get it from Nabilo direct ?
I would install a known good source image and start over.
 
I had a similar image and had the exact same issue when trying to use a newer version of cccam.

if you remove the cam the image will just try and load it again even if its not there.
my advice is to do what I did and to get a new image and forget the one you have, as already said its a bogus image, Try and get images without installed cams much easier in the long run.

Unfortunately since it is already built in to the image, its not available to delete the way you have suggested.

See attachment for what I get having run the Find option. There is no usr/ line at all.

The box is a clone and I did change from Gemini to Dark Star using a 'clone image' from dreamboxclones.
I am now recognising the downside of clones and with a bit of hindsight probably would have chosen a different direction. But, being where I am now I would still prefer to get this to work, if practical.
Would you suggest a better image and where I get it from. If it is the current image that is causing issues I have no problem changing to a better alternative.

Appreciate everyone's assistance. I am certainly learning a heck of a lot from this process even if it is a bit painful.

That is definitely a VERY strange image. I would find any image with a second stage loader that is good for clones. Before I bought my first box, I investigated the clone market and decided against it for 2 reasons: 1. Support will always be better on the genuine product and I know I can load any image and 2. I will not support people that cant invent their own hardware/software and get rich out of other peoples efforts.
 
I have a clone 500 working no problem, looking at your log you have CCcam_2.1.2 in var/bin and your CCcam.cfg in var etc which is correct.

The only reason you can not install 2.1.3 is lack of space at a guess.
To create space is very easy.
Switch to common interface so CCcam is not running.

Use your ftp client to navigate to var/bin which is where CCcam_2.1.2 bin is, we know this from your log.

Now delete it.

You have no created the space required to install 2.1.3

You can also delete 2.1.2 from bin as it is not required.
 
Sonic1, thanks for your suggestion. The problem is there is no common interface in the image and so I have been unable to find a way to stop 2.1.2 (this is the only choice using the blue button).

Looks like a new image is in order - care to make any recommendation?
