My question is this. Say I have a sub card in my dreambox that gives me 80% of all required channels. Now I have a buddy who has a few extra channels on his card, and another buddy has has some more channels on his card. So how does cccam first of all figure what server to use, be it internal or external. I assume it will first of all check for authorization off the internal card, and if it can't find it, it uses the clines in the cccam.cfg to get the information. So is there a sequence is how it searches the external servers. Obviously you would want cccam to remember where to get the necessary information to cut down on the necessary communication between different machines. Is there a method of defining where cccam should search for what channels to ensure least possible lag times

There is my friend ... SID assign work even for C lines. as well as hops rules... exactly same confs as f but in c.

You should all use the SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN parameter in your CCcam.cfg. This tells cccam which channels you can open without it actually asking the card. It will make your server run much faster and takes ECM responses from the correct cards. You should always use and so should your friends. Grab my latest util to help you set it up. CCcam SID Assigner v0.4.0

thanks guys, for some reason i knew the answer was staring me straight in the face. i'll get on to the sid assign and get it sorted. appreciated

i can't seem to figure out how to use the SID assigner with C Lines. I can see how the tool works for the internal card reader but I would like to set up a SID assignment for the Cline. Could you possibly suggest a format for C line and Fline SID assign statement. Foe example if I were to take setanta ireland from someone else I would use a Cline to do so. However how would I set up the SID assign for setanta to point cccam directly to the cline. thanks

it would alot easier to block C lines from reterving certains channel. go the oppsite way instead of requesting sid from c line, block what u already have local.
This is will go like that : 192.168.x.x port user1 user2 (Yes or no) { sid1, sid2, sid3 } ....
channel sid can be found on websites such as lyngsat .... then assemble all sid u need, suggest to make excel sheet, then dex2hex, thats what u r after. Hope this will guide u.

fintanni, you cannot use SID assign for someone elses card. They have to do it themselves.
haggar11, good info there thanks. I'm working a lot on my CCcam SID Assigner software at the moment. One added feature will be to export channel names and SIDs to an excel spreadsheet, infact that in its simplest form is already done. This will help in the creation of C line filters.

B16MCC,

Many thanks for all nice softs coming out from you, Hope the new verision would include other channels in hotbird, etc ...

haggar11, interesting comment. The CCcam SID Assigner will process any bouquets you point it to. It's not just for 28e. If you have a bouquet for a card then just load it in and process the SIDs.
