"On 19 September 2012, the Freeview TV guide will be updated. As a result, some existing channels are moving to new numbers.
To receive the update, where equipment does not pick up the changes automatically, viewers simply need to retune their Freeview* TVs and digital boxes after lunchtime on 19 September."

The changes are:

  • Dave (from 19 to 12)
  • Yesterday (from 12 to 19)
  • Really (from 20 to 17)
  • Gold (from 17 to 20)
  • Food Network (from 49 to 48)
  • ewellery Channel (from 60 to 49)
  • Two further changes are in appeal and the results will be announced shortly.

There's supposedly a more radical change in numbering coming up. IIRC the HD channels get moved into the hundreds and there's quite a shakeup amongst the middling numbers.

The first four aren't really number changes, they're just swapping Dave with Yesterday and Really with Gold, same broadcaster, same channels, just moving the video player connections....

And could they not have waited until the 26th? Given the Tyne-Tees switchover, we've had to retune once on the 12th, then this 2nd one on the 19th, and then a third time on the 26th!!! Someone really fluffed up the plans there, and will cause more confusion for those who don't understand freeview and the switchover that much as it is.... :-ohcrap

Sooooo, when's the change due today?? I've retuned my box a few times already this morning, but the channels are on the same numbers...

You need to retune after lunchtime, as per the original post. ;)

What a daft time to change the numbers...

Rolf probably doesn't realise we don't do Lunch oop here >>>> midday meal is Dinner and evening meal is Tea (or Us Tea, strictly).

You don't have supper then? :)

Does beer count? :-rofl2

Well, retuned, channels rearranged as predicted, still irritating that they didn't just switch them round during the night when most of the switched channels were off-air (even if showing teleshopping)...

Just have to wait a week for the 26th for another retune, seems to be getting into a weekly occurrence, last weds., retune, today (weds.), retune, next weds., retune, might actually be able to watch something in amongst all these retunes...
(so long as it's by satellite!!! :-rofl2 )

You eat before bedtime?? We don't do that up here... :-rofl2

Turned my Freeview HD box on when I got home and it said that 32 TV channels had been installed. I wonder what the other 27 are?
