Its on the same frequency but encrypted. With just an fta box you will have to do without.

Tell the missus to go and do the washing up! :-rofl2

Not without a ftv card no.

I doubt it will be back as several new (encrypted) streams are due to start on that frequency - the test labels are already up.

The best place is via Sky UK of course - a one off payment of £20. However you will of course need an address in the UK.

Or you could buy a White Card from ebay that has already been initialized and use it in a third party box. I use a Vantage x221CI TS with the latest firmware and a Manhattan Plaza XT-M. Both work fine with the FTV card and auto update.

Yes very sad to loose this station which was very strong and very good in Spain.

However we can still get channel 4 plus 1 hour, for the moment .

and you will still be able to get normal C4 if you have a sky card...just scan the same frequency tton4 was on (12480) and you will find the irish C4 variations....

The current Sky Viewing Cards are White!

Same same whether they are for Subscription use or for FreesatfromSky.

I suggest that if the UK addressee you will be using has access to a Sky Box, that the first recipient Activates the Card (Requiring phone call to Sky) before sending it on to you.

Umm thats debatable. The correct centre frequency for that transponder is 12480MHz. A few MHz either side makes no difference because the frequency is so strong. Its also possible to get an incorrect frequency reading if the lnb oscillators have drifted frequency slightly.

Don't know if this helps, but I'm picking up CH4 (London Area) here on 10714H, 22000. It seems to be FTA, as I'm not using a card of any colour on my Vantage.

The folk to whom it's a problem are all unable to get reliable 2D reception and rely upon little trinkets elsewhere, Pete.

A Sky Viewing Card gives access not only to the aforementioned Channel 4 source (or did!) but also to some ITV Regions which had to move off 2D to free up space and consequently reverted to FTV status.
