Get a 115 mm or four-and-a-half inch post / pole, and cement it in the ground with at least five barrow loads of concrete

When you say mount what do you mean?

Mount for attaching to a wall or a polar mount?

I have had one of these dishes in the past and they are huge and heavy.

He only needs a 3 inch diameter pole mount. You are thinking of the 1.8m model.

The manual that comes with the dish has a technical drawing of the dish on the last page, you should be able to use this for measuring angles and distances.
