How good are channel master dishes?

I may be able to source a free, 1m ch master dish.

I've currently got a 1m solid orbital dish.

Would it be worth the hassle swapping the dishes?

How good are channel masters compared to orbital dishes?

I'm using a technomate disecqu motor. Do I need to go down the 36 volt route with a channel master?

Thanks.

NOt got one, but if I had the chance of a free one I would jump at it.:)

These are professional dishes, and should easily out-perform the orbital, if the matched feedhorn is used.

I think that they are much heavier than your tinny old Orbital 1m, a diseqc motor would struggle I think.

I have my dish very low, so personally I would give it a bash on a diseqc, just to watch it break.:-rofl2

1.2m channel master on a jeager 1224 motor. 55cm fibo Gregorian. VU solo2.

I would jump at the chance for a free Channelmaster.

It will last you for ever!

Yes a little heavy for a diseq motor.

Channelmaster no longer make polarmounts, but you may find one 2nd hand.

You could always mount it on a Jeager 128 or 1224 :)

they wont fit a diseqc motor unless you make a mounting bracket for it to fit a stab motor

if you do get it and buy the 1224 make sure your wall mount or pole is strong enough to support the weight

when you mean free, does that mean taken from your local bookies lol

Hi

I have a Channel Master 1.2Mtr dish and polar mount, C120 Inverto LNB & 18" Superjack running off a home made Vbox fed from my Technomate TM6900 Combo.

This is the best dish I have owned; now 9 years old still as good as new even after going through some bad winter winds.

Although the CM's are considerably heavier than a pressed steal or aluminium dish they are very robust having a perfect aluminium reflector encased in a very strong fibreglass resin mould, would recommend to anyone wanting a good quality dish

The Channel Master range are now under the Andrews name but still the same moulding.

I'll give them a call later about it. It's got no LNB on and the wires have been cut to it so i'll do my best lol.

It has a tatty looking echostar actuator on the back and the polar mount looks in very good condition.

It's on a thick pole on a slap at the moment so i'm thinking keep it on that and chuck it in the van lol.

I'll let you know how I get on.

I'll pop round after work and see what they intend on doing with it.

If they want money, how much would it be worth lol?

I was thinking £20-£30 tops haha
