Hi,

I have recently bought a DM800 clone which is working quite well apart from SS1 & Discovery. My friend has seen my setup and seems really interested in getting in on the ‘scene’ however my friend is a cheapskate, serial moaner and has no technical knowledge. Therefore a DM800 clone is definitely out of the question considering potential tuner problems. Could someone please recommend me a suitable receiver?

• HD Receiver
• Costs up to £150
• Has CCcam (he will only be receiving, he has nothing to share)
• CCCam enabled…(he would , he has nothing to share)
• User friendly (ish)
• Not bothered about anything else such as hard drive etc...he just wants to watch channels via cardsharing

Thanks

Welcome SAGZ,
For that price range you MIGHT get a PCI tuner for your PC. HD boxes (linux) don't exist for £150, as far as I know.

I think I can speak for all members saying:"WE DO NOT SUPPORT PAY SERVERS OF ANY KIND!" Please refrain from using that terminology.

Thanks Wildbit, I have sent a message to the mods asking if they can cut that out. Cannot find an edit post/thread function

Suppose I'll have to order him a dm800 clone if there are no other alternatives for the same price.

There are other receivers, some more user friendly, but I can't think of any within the budget you have mentioned, not HD at least.

You can look into the spiderbox 7000 HD, around £160, maybe cheaper, but there are a lot of other linux based receivers around, like the Vu+ Duo, but they are more expensive and require a lot of work to get the most out of them.
