Cheap power adapter

My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC
My Location
Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
I found a cheap power adapter from US plug to UK socket.

Just bend the pins by 20 degrees. Must try harder.

It is appreciated that you have interuptores.
Using screwdrivers is cheating, they are isolated.

The o/p has an isolating switch on the wall-plate, mine doesn't.
 
Funny thing is, the Aussie plug & socket is actually an old defunct US standard for 240v applications, so seeing a 120v US plug hooked up to a 240v ex-US one is quite hilarious... :lol:

That someone can let their sockets get so dirty!! nice hack though, don't bother with a plug or adapter. I'm sure a few of us have done this at least once!
 
The biggest hassle with that last pic is finding the correct size teaspoon to lever down the earth pin cover.

If you have a plug nearby rotate it 180 and use the earth pin. Or if you want a cord grip just put the wires there and whack the plug over the top.

Judging by the moly grease on the switch, it's probably a mechanic's doing...:-rofl2

I'm fairly sure the live and neutral wires are in the reserve positions from what they're supposed to be (live should be the left bottom).

You are correct because people confuse the connections into a socket with how you wire up a plug - obviously, the first is the mirror image of the other!

OTOH - the lack of Double Insulation on the exposed wires/conductors apart - it does not really matter which way the wires are plugged into the socket as the attached product has no Earth connection because it is itself Double Insulated (or I really hope it is!) .
