Cheap Receiver, Technomate or Black Box

1m Motorised dish with especta es-1130s receiver !!

I'm considering buying a replacement / 2nd receiver and am looking at the technomate TM-3000d and the BlackBox/Dreambox 500s both at under £50.

Does anyone have and use either of these models or any experience of them, would be interested in pro's and cons from people who know and understand them.

Hi, It depends what you want to do with the box.

I have messed about with both briefly.

If you just want FTA, get the the TM, as it is really easy to use., also most probably better for a motorised dish than a clone 500s, in some cases.

The 500s does have a card reader, so possibly could be used for some paid services with the appropriate subscription, it also has an ethernet port for internet connection.
 
Thanks Robbo, i have a subscription to bulsatcom so would need a card reader, leaving the blackbox out front, do you have any other budget reccomendations ? there doesn't seem to be a lot of "free" stuff out there, i used to watch premier and polsat, but no longer available as far as i know.
