chinasat 9a will be launch in june

Seems to have succeeded to reach GEO after all! Tweets of CGWIC:
"ChinaSat-9A has successfully been postioned at 101.4 degrees on July 5, 2017."
"All systems of ChinaSat-9A are working properly. The transponders have been activated, and the in-orbit test is under going."

Blimey thats good going. I wonder how much life it will have left now some of the propellant has been used up.

I noticed ChinaSat-9A slowly drifting away from 101.4°E, now near 100.9°E.
Apparently not much propellant was left after the salvaging, and depleted now, not enough to raise to graveyard orbit.
Feb. 7: Zhongxing-9A propellant exhausted after 4 years and ended its service life. The ZX-9A (ChinaSat-9A) communications satellite was launched towards to geosynchronous transfer orbit in 2017 but a third stage issue left it in a much lower orbit, requiring the satellite to consume its own propellant to reach GEO at 101.4 degrees East. The services it provided are being shifted to ZX-9 (launched 2008, 92.2° E) while a replacement, ZX-9B, is expected to launch before the end of the year for operator China Satcom.
