Listen Up Clone (Unbranded) SuperJack from HMSat

There are Venture jacks being sold on 2galli.fr site for a whopping 459 Europeans. When we did a group buy from US (between 4 of us), it worked out to be around £350 each with purchase, postage and import rape. So there are savings to be made but it's a bit of a hassle.

@RustySpoons,

That HM-Sat are talking bollox.
Here, send them this picture I have attached below and ask them why they did not send you one of these.
I sent them that and they said "That's the old model" lol

I'm tempted to go out there and put a hydraulic ram and a pump on it, I'll never need to change it!

Tell them "The Brexit Man" aint to be messed with and they do so at their peril.

In all honesty, its a breach of trade descriptions as they have a photo on their site advertising the one with the logo and they sent you something that dont match the photo. Its their fault if they did not bother to change the photo and they misled you into a purchase.

Its deffo a money back job and return of it to them at their expense if you wanna go down that route. If you paid by PayPal create a dispute on it and clawback the wedge.

Well 2 days later...

Just cleaned those holes out and applied "Liquid Tape"
Amazing stuff!

That be awful, hope you can salvage this item.

Cleaned off that rust (it looks like where they stamp the end "bearing" in) and put some drops of liquid tape on it.
Just goes to show though the metal they use in all of these is a joke.

Disconcerting.
But, again, you get what you pay for. HM sat prices are very low, so...
Only the darned thing is that there is no second tier - not a 70-100 GBP actuator readily available that does the same job, only lasts twice as long...

Yes I noticed this! I know it's a niche market but surprised there its either cheap crap or ridiculously expensive.
Has anyone looked at other systems, such as used for gate closing or "Ram" types that don't use acme threads?

Gate drives do not have ball joints or variable clamp length.

The manufacturers still have quality actuators on their books, but usual minimum order is a containers worth, approx 3-3.5k .
