Cold Start

My Satellite Setup
SkyStar2 to PC and ProgDVB, DVBDream and to TM1500CI+Super
My Location
NW Lancashire
When starting DVBDream (or ProgDVB) from cold I frequently find it wont startup, just when I need it. I get Zero in Level and Quality.

I usually start on Eurosport, the last channel watched, on 19.2E and when I get this failure vPlug monitor shows Timeout -This PID is empty-Rescan.
But I know from keep trying that its there, I dont need to scan.

Sometimes I can pick a popular channel nearby in the channel list, like DW-TV. I click on that and the program runs, then I switch back to Eurosport and that usually runs then, but sometimes it doesnt.

Do you recognise this fault and what can I do to correct it?

SkyStar2, ProgDVB and DVBDream as a standby.

Yes I recognize. There's either problem with LNB or DISEQC. It just won't switch correctly.

Wow thats a positive answer. Thank You.
There no way I'm going back up that ladder, so its a job for an installer once the weather improves.

I've got a PM on this. The writer refers to LOF Drift, is this what you meant by a problem with the LNB.
He says 'LOF drift would act like a faulty diseqc switch but its the card not being able to lock the channel (off freq)'.

Is this something an installer would be able to check for me?

No, if that was LOF drift (famous Q13 problem), than you'll not be able to receive most of channels.

Skystars are very selective when comes to DISEQC. For example, I had to try 4 differet models, untill I found one that works perfectly.

What you should try first, is to remove diseqc at all, and try to switch channels without it. If problem gone - than diseqc is faulty (it may work OK with other receiver OK). If problem still exists - check LNB.
