Hi I have just bought the DVB-S SL 65/12 system of ebay and the picture on the box of the receiver is not the same as the one inside, there are two manuals in the box and the receiver that I have got is the one depicted in the manual which is written in german, well after setting it up last night to Astra 2e it was all in German and after going to the menu and selecting English and pressing ok nothing changed it was still in German although it was displaying English in the menu, Colin

That is because you have got your Dish aligned to Astra 1 at 19.2E, not to Astra 2 at 28.2E!

Standard error.

Just move the Dish 9 degrees further East and lower the Elevation a degree or two.

Similar frequencies are re-used across different Satellite positions, so if you scan "Astra 2" while pointing to Astra 1, you will get some results - but they will be Channels from Astra 1.

Easily sorted :)

spot on Gordon done that alls well. one more question as its a portable and not left in a permanant or same place do I have to rescan every time I set it up? cheers Colin

You will need to scan for new channels occasionally but the receiver should remember its settings from day to day.

It will keep its memory for ever and a day, so don't worry about it forgetting what you already had.

But Analoguesat is right (:-worship), there are occasions when the Channels get shuffled around - but not that often. So if you spot something amiss, just engage Auto Scan!

I found a web site once that showed a picture of all the satellites up there ,can`t find it now any one know what web site it is on cheers colin
