Technomate TM-6902 -T2 Super HD Satellite & Terrestial Combo Receiver + USB PVR....

It is time for me to dispose of my 15 yr old VHS VCR and my 18yr old Analogue Sat receiver on 19.2 German Channels!

I want the best of the new worlds! I need a Digital HD Sat Receiver to receive 19.2 for German and a Freeview Terrestial Receiver +PVR.

Do I purchase eg. a Combo+PVR or similar, or is it better and safer to buy to 2x seperate units? One for Sat the other for Terrestial?

Is a Combo putting to many eggs in one basket?

I've got a Vantage x221 TS CI. The terrestrial tuner got fried by a lightning strike. Everything else works fine.

Anyway, another option if you do want to put your eggs in one basket is a Vu+ Duo (has 2 DVB-S2 tuners built in) add whatever size hard drive you want for recording, and add a couple of DVB-T USB dongles, will give you a 4 tuner HD recording box.
 
I run a Cuberevo HD with 500Gb h/disk, DVB-S2 and a DVB-T card in it. The dish is on a rotor so we're not limited to just one bird. Hasn't given any problems and means between freeview/freesat have the combined UK channel lineup and the rotor means can still get alternatives when not using the dish for freesat.
 
An HTPC is another route as well.
