Compact Flash vs USB Drive

Just wondering about the operational pros and cons of a USB Drive vs a Compact Flash drive. As far as I can tell there would be no difference as they are both just storage but I wanted to see if there is some minor difference I'm not aware of. I am currently using a USB drive but am a little leary of damaging it as I move the box around (why move the box around? Because I'm a guy have to keep trying different things) so I wonder if a CF might work out better since it is internal and would be protected. I am in a very dusty enviroment as well but I don't see that as an pro or con issue for either type storage.
 
Shouldn't imagine there is very much difference between them, but as you say, at least the CF doesn't protrude from the receiver. :)
 
Would a 256MB be more room than I'd ever realistically need?
 
That's all i use with my USB stick and I load the var directory on it, so probably yes. :)
 
Much coolness ensued when I moved everything over to the CF from my USB. Suddenly MultiV and polsat channels were clear. Alas 8 hours later they were gone. Any thoughts on that?
