Complete newbie - please help!!!!

ok as i'm new to all of this my problem may seem a little silly to some of the more experienced peeps on here.

i have a dreambox 600 & need advice on how i get it thru my router & into phone line. i have numerous cables but i can't get it to work. i can put a standard modem cable into the back of the 600 & into my netgear router but how do i then get it from my router to my phone line as router & 600 only have 1 attachment for the cable. do you understand that???

its really bugging me.

is there a cable out there that will let me do this or am i just being bloody stupid??
 
Is the router an ADSL router/ modem? What model is it?
 
its a netgear wireles g modem router DG834G m8. adsl2. could i not connect an ethernet cable into dreambox & router. then attach modem/phone cable from router to phone line?

tried the above, didn't work. i'm on cs, i know thats not to be talked about on here but i thort doing it the above way would work. should i get in touch with my supplier or wot?
