Confused over Azimuth

I am setting up a dish onto Astra 2 for Freesat and need a little clarification.
I am aware that the satellite is at 28.2 but when I use a dish alignment tool on various websites they all tell me that the dish should be at 146.9 magnetic.
My question is when you add these together should they not add up to 180 degrees and not the 175.1 that they are ?

No! 28ºE is the longitudinal location of the satellite above the equator. If you were at the core of the Earth and your dish was pointed at 0º it would simply be a matter of swinging the dish across 28º to point at Astra 2... But you aren't at the centre of the Earth so your azimuth and elevation setting need to take other things into account such as your latitude, longitude and distance from the core (which is what the satellite is orbiting around).

Also, magnetic and true coordinates differ by a few degrees.

So do I set it to 28.2 degrees east or 146.9 degrees as advised on dishpointer ?
 
use 146.9 as dish pointer said
 
Set it to a rough 147° with a compass, it will only be a rough bearing for 28e from your location. From there, either use the signal test screen or a portable meter to get correct alignment.
