connecting satellite to db's

i have been looking around for about a week and haven't crossed anything that actually explained how this could be done, though i've read posts about it being done. so, it's possible i assume.

my issue is this: we have a db 500 and it is connected to the tv in the great room. i can stream it through our lan of course to my computer that i connected to my tv, or sometimes my macbook. But, it conflicts sometimes cause i may want to watch channel 1 while people in the great room want to watch channel 2. so i am debating getting another dreambox to setup in my room to fix this. how would i go about connecting the same satellite that is feeding signals to the original db in the great room to my new one, if i get it?

I was thinking we had d lnb but im not sure. He has the db networked into our lan. That's how i watch it in the other room on the pc attached to the tv. BUT say he only has a single or a dual but they're both being used, would a multi-switch be the best option here? We're picking up two satellites on that current db. But he had mentioned if i got a db he'd have to hook it up to another satellite we have on a diff part of the house that is unused at the moment, but i'd have to choose between 110 or 119.

Why would that be and what's a way around it? Basically my goal is to get 110 and 119 onto a tv in the other room to independently watch it separate from the db in the great room.

The one you asked. mhku has just told you the solution to your problem.

Its as simple as this, Any tuner you want to connect to an LNB has to have a dedicated connection to that LNB, and only one tuner at a time can properly use an LNB, so switching is of no use in this case.

All a switch does is switch the connection between LNB A to LNB B.

There is a thing called quattro LNB

I have on, gives me 4 outputs so I can use it on 4 decoders.

just some thing i noted he is talking about circle pol. so will be slightly differnet to what we are used to in europe, it might help to ask on a US forum?

Now, i get what you're saying about each output needs to have it's own dedicated input into a receiver. A couple of days ago i came across this diagram, which is attached. Cause if what you're saying is true, then this diagram is wrong, or maybe i am misunderstanding it all. Can you please clear this one up for me a bit.

I do not know what a 'circle pol.' is. Also, i did some searching around, but didn't come across any US satellite/dreambox website forums. If you know of some that will be able to inform me, then please, by all means, share .
