Hello Evryone!
I am fairly new to the wonderful world of Satellite entertainment, I own a magic cam that was converted to a matrix reloaded cam. Is it possible to revert the cam back to it's original dreamload state so that I can re-programme it with the latest version of the pentacrypt software? If so how? Your help will be very much apprecited.

Hello Stevo,
thanks for the reply! The problem I have is that I dont have a CAS programmer, I have had to send the cam off to someone to have it modified and returned with the latest version of MR software 1.06. Can the cam be reverted back to dreamload state by simply inserting and removing the cam from the receiver three times? This is somthing I used to do when it was a magic cam.

As a matter of interest, why do you want to go back to the MM and pentacrypt. I would have thought the MR, udated with funcards, would give you more. Long time since I used either but just going on gut instinct and what I've read.

Sorry for the late responce! Suggesting I stick with the matrix as it can do more, how easy/complex is it to upgrade the software on the cam by using just funcards? i'm having to constantly send the cam off to have it done by someone else! Your help will be very much appreciated as its costing me a small fortune.Cheers!!!

dont know much about cardv updates but what i have read its pretty straight forward, oviously u will need a card programmer like a infinity usb phenix, good invessment if your looking to go into the sattelite enthusiast thing, also cas 2 very handy tool also.but at the end of the day its up to u m8,me i love it.spending a few quid you enjoy doing, even if i dont have time to watch much tv,i think its the thirill of the chase.

Ive got an MR and no cards. I just use the MR to watch T*S and Multivis*ion. I update the software myself using a PCI to PMCIA card on my PC. The PCI to PMCIA card cost me £7.99 on special offer at Maplins. I tried to use the PMCIA slot on my laptop but was never successful - it appears to depend on what PC you have.

If you are getting the cas interface anyway I'd stick to the MR, you will be able to update in a matter of mins, and even use the MRV releases (without card support) The Cas Interface is really easy to use, and some versions have a Wizard which makes it apiece of p*ss to use. :-)
