Found a good free FTP application called Core FTP LE, in addition to the popular Filezilla.

Installed it, used it and I am happy with it.
Should be great for connecting to Dreambox receivers.
Enjoy :)

I know there are Linux users here too, but Windows Explorer or Internet explorer have an FTP function built into them, so I haven't had to dig out any FTP software from the web for some time... :)

I used to use SmartFTP though, until they started charging for it, which was a shame cos it's great software... :)

It is for Windows, but can connect to dreamboxes, just like Filezilla.:)

I don't know how dissimilar Dbox2's and Dreamboxes are, but when I had a Dbox2, I used Windows Explorer to access it and it worked fine, it asked for a username and password, I gave it the correct one, it let me in, simple... :)

Unless Dreamboxes use a non-standard FTP method?

I don't trust IE to do FTP upload/download operations without corrupting files.
I am not only thinking of a Dreambox, but also to use it for accessing websites.
FTP applications have better security options and should be more reliable.
If you are happy with IE, then you don't need a dedicated FTP application.

I've not had any problems with it, just server-side issues (log in attempts mostly), but then I don't upload a lot, plus I don't think there'll be many people interested in the secrets behind the image of a Kirby or something... :-rofl2
