Crack Excel password

I have encrypted an excel spreadsheet and have forgotten the password.

I have tried the professional version of Passware to crack it. It ran for 17.5 hours using brute force attack but failed to crack my password.

I also used a free software package (can't remember its name) but that ran for 4 hours and failed.

Any ideas for free password cracker software packages that may open it? The password is probably 8 characters including capitals and numerics
 
Which version of Excel ?
 
Spotmau Power Suite should do that for you.
 
I am using Excel 2002. There seems to be a charge for Spotmau Powersuite. I do not want to pay as the last professional software did not crack the password (luckily it was a paid for product at work)
 
What do you mean 'There seems to be a charge for Spotmau Powersuite' when you have already confirmed 'it was a paid for product at work' ?

Have you tried a Linux o/s overgrade ?
