2010: Odyssey Two used the plot device of number 1 by flinging loads of black monoliths into Jupiter to give it enough mass to initiate nuclear fusion. Trouble is, in the real world you'd need tens of thousands (at a guess) of monoliths each with the mass of the earth to make Jupiter put on enough weight.

It's the same with the other stories. They're sort of true but... For instance you wouldn't get a star several hundred times the size of our sun because it would have collapsed into a black hole.

There is a lot of strange stuff up there but this is much lower, if You ask me

The most difficult thing to understand is that space is infinite. It doesn't end. It just goes on and on.

Or maybe it does end and it's 000000000000000000.1% of a much bigger thing.
