I'm looking to replace a Jaegar H2H which has an upwards facing pole, so I've been looking at two Disceq mounts, the STAB/GBSat HH120 which has some poor write ups and the Cryptik V-Bracket.

Are the Cryptik any good? Is it quick, quiet and reliable? Can a standard dish be fitted to it as the bracket looks a bit odd.

The Crytik motor fits an orbital dish.

Thanks,
Forgive the ignorance but what is the significance of Obital? The mount just looks like its got an odd shaped pole which seems to make sense to me in terms of getting the dish square with the mount.

It matches the V slot bracket on the Orbital dish.

I modifyed mine(small amount of fileing required) to fit a Gibertini 1m dish,it gives a positive mounting with no chance of the dish shifting in high winds and an easier set up process. ive had the motor at least 3 years now with daily use, plenty of moving about ! it was 2nd hand when i got it and has now got some freeplay in it . i would recommend it though and have a spare ready for when this one dies.

I guess there is no such thing as a universal mount anyway, as I had to fit spacers on the pole backet when I changed the dish on my Jaeger from a 95cm to an 85cm as the feed arm on the smaller dish used to snag the mount even though the elevation angle was the same.

I'm surprised you've seen problems after three years, but you said it was second hand? The Jaeger I have is about fifteen years old and still works perfectly, it just needs all the rusty mounting bolts changing. I might just get a cheaper Technomate 2600 H2H for my second dish for now and leave the Jaegar running until it fails .

The Technomate 2600 will do well.
