Claims Made in Video-No.2 :- Polishing cylindrical metal rod (of old LNBF) placed just under lid of waveguide improves signal quality. And cleaning vertical & horizontal polarization probes with thinner/spirit, with the help of cotton and tweezer also contribute to signal growth.

Few Questions :-
1. What is the role of this cylindrical metal rod in waveguide ? Is changing this cylindrical rod with any other high electrical conductivity metal like silver or silver-plated or any silver alloy may have potential for further improvement in signal quality?
2. Should pin shaped polarization probes be cleaned annually/biannually to keep the old LNB running smoothly without any degradation in signal ?
3. What is the role of the lid fixed at the top of waveguide w.r.t signal variation ? From the video one can observe that removing lid decreases signal and again placing increases the signal.

2. Have never done this but can't see why not, as long as the probes aren't bent or damaged in the process.
3. Helps stop unwanted signal and noise reaching the LNB probes, as well as rain and dirt. Signal from the satellite that enters the LNB from the rear reaches the probe at a different time to signal which has been reflected from the dish and therefore causes interference.
