Cyprus Nr Larnaca reception BBC1&2 etc

4.3m dish Pilla Cyprus (near Larnaca)

I have seen some posts on here but haven't found the answer, I understand that a new satellite has gone up and is blocking Astra 2D signals?? My mother in law is just back from Cyprus and informs me that she can't get BBC1&2 out there, I'm popping over in a few weeks, I have Pace 2600C1, but will the foxsat get me better reception? will it pickup BBC HD that the old 2600 can't? and cure the problem, not sure I want to sticky tape a drinks tray on the dish.

Is the FoxSat a better receiver? or will I get no benefit buying one? I can get a refurb direct form Manufacturer for about £100.

hello,
there is a signal on the 26 east satellite that is affecting the bbc etc.
there is a fix action i have seen on another thread they put a pillow type thing on the dish and bbc comes back in.
this will muffel the sognal on the adjacent satellite and will not bother the bbc.

No. No chance at all. BBC HD is on a vertically polarised transponder, and vertically polarised signals from Astra 2D are not receivable in Cyprus.

ralphmagno, can you remember the fix that brings BBC1 & 2 back in please or the thread? I was thinking about taking 30mtrs of PF125 cable out with me because the cable it has installed out there is really thin. Doesn't even look like CT100 to me. Might this help I wonder? It's a bloody shame because my Mother in law just bought the dish off of a neighbour, paid to have it moved and now this has happened. Will the FoxSAT help at all even on normal BBC ??
 
hello, yes i found it.
search if you lost bbc channels read this.
there is a lot there but on 29 it gets to the problem and on 38 there is a picture.
there is a lot who had the problem and now it is fixed.

Rubber mats or aluminium plates,or both. But a second hand 4.3m dish which has been moved to another house ?I'll give that one a miss. Call Satellite Steve from Oroklini.
 
How much is a 4.2m dish, here, now?
