Wanted Daewoo DF-4700PN DVD/VCR for parts

Hi gang ..
I wonder if one of you guys in UK has one of these lying in a cupboard somewhere..broken or unused..
Obviously a blast from the past as it doesn't even receive digital TV ...
Analogue only ...
I have a customer who is in her 80s ...and uses the VCR function and believe it or not the Tape to Disc function a lot on her old unit.
..and being elderly ..she doesn't like change ..so would like to see it work again.
I'd love to repair it for her ..but ..
Little out there by way of service info ...and even less in the way of parts ...
Thus I'm after another one so I can cut n shut ...making one worker out of 2 if yer get my drift..
So it has to be the same model ...and obviously has to be economically viable ..
So cheap as possible..
It is afterall for spares ...

but chances are they are selling them as working ...therefore as you say ..silly money..

Took a quick look ...but as you say ..
Far too expensive ..
unless of course the intention was to buy a complete working unit...and not for repair..
Guess I just keep looking.

The same design was suppplied under a number of different brands, some were DVD recordable and others were only DVD play only/no editing.

What exactly is wrong with the one your cutomer has ? (I may know where there is one, but have to travel a short distance to find out which model it is)

Hi CH ..
There are 2 faults on this unit ..
No sound at all in EE mode ...nor from VHS or DVD ...this is definately down to a problem in the Audio switching cctry ..A to D ..or D to A..
I believe the relevant chips are on the DVD servo board ..
There is also an intermittent DVD servo problem ..so although I have a good optical pickup ...I was hoping to swap out the whole DVD unit ...after grafting in a good laser if need be ..therefore (hopefully) curing both problems..
Which is one of the reasons I need to get as close to the original model as possible.
Actual component level repair of this pcb is at best difficult ...and with the lack of relevant schematic leaves me working blind.
Not that I got to try this but the owner says ...a dvd recording from VHS is possible ...but results in picture only ..
no audio is recorded at all ...which given what I have said already makes perfect sense..
