darkstar 2 dm 500s sat .xml crash??

sky digital, dreambox 500s using cccam 2.0.9 with gemini 4.2 image

hi guys i recently installed the darkstar 2 image on my dreambox but when i scanned 28. 2e (sly) sat i was short alot of transponders, i read into it and it said on forums to ftp it through var/ etc on to the box so i downloaded one and done that and redone scan and got about 1038 channels but when i press ok the box freezes and work again so have to reflash it. can anyone help me out and let me know if this can be done on dm500s
 
I would reflash and download fresh settings from Addons menu in Nabilo server (I think its in theBlue Panel and going to addons with yellow button).
 
ya thanks done that... but is there anyway i can download the sat xml to the box?? and how.
 
Yes. You can use DCC (latest one is 296) and ftp to var/etc as you said before. Should work.
 
yes thats what i done and it crashes box, i ftp it to box in var/etc but just freezes box?? have done it twice now??
 
Try downloading Cajton's Settngs from here http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/881241-post1.html

and use DreamboxEdit or OpenDBedit to write them to box. Switch of and back on, go to Satellite Config., go down to the end of satellite list and press yellow button to add all satellites that are available and save. Switch off and back on and your satellite.xml file should then be updated.;)

since i put those settings on if i go into sat config i only have the 3 sats available in the drop down list (the ones from that download you gave me 28E,13E&19.2E). Compared to the amount that were available before i ftp'd these- im not bothered as i dont intend in using different sat on this box but just curious to know how i would be able to access more sats?? im preparing to set up a motor dish with dm800 soon so will want more access to sats then..... to my understanding i think i just download settings with more sats available and ftp it to box again- would this be correct??
 
If you want more sats you have to download the E1 45e to 43w channel list. Thats the motor channel list.
 
thanks bud since il only be doing this with dm800 i will be looking for the e2 motor list ya??
 
Yes that's it. E2 for the 800. It is attached in that post also.
