My Satellite Setup
STBs = Ultimo4K, VUDUO2, VuSolo2, Alien2, AzBox HD Elite, ET8000:
Dishes = 180cm PF, 80cm offset, 60cm offset, Sky mini:
LNBs c120 for PF dish = Ku-Band White Smart Titanium (modified to c120)
and for C-Band Titanium C1W-PLL
My Location
UK
I Installed this with a 80cm dish last summer and it was working fine.

I've not used it since Xmas and it was hit by one of the recent storms and twisted around the pole until the LNB arm hit an obstruction. Yesterday I realigned it but it was completely dead. No light on LEDs, no movement at all. I tried it on a short 1m coax directly to the STB, still nothing. I'll try it on another box today but does anyone know if there is an internal "fuse" that could have blown? Or does it have any other fail-safe device that could be reset? I have already tried the two button reset method. Can this be revived or do I need a new one? If a new one, any recommendations for a more resilient motor?
TIA

I'm pleased to say - Problem solved. It was due to faulty coax connections.

Nice and simple.

It isn't unknown for Dark Motors to fail though... I believe @Journey had his replaced in the past because of total failure.

That's what I was concerned about. However, fortunately this time, it was just a simple fix that was needed.

The LED has never worked on my Darkmotor that I fitted about 5 years ago,
I will replace with a Stab HH100 when the weather gets a bit warmer just to gain a wider arc than my current 48 east to 56.5 west due to the extra height gained with the dish spigot on top of the StabHH100,
Hopefully I will gain a few satellites from 50 east to 57 east :)

William, while Stabs have good reputation, they are SLOW. Also, I had one driving a TD110 very briefly and there was a bit of play on it. That said, I had a 120 version and it seemed OK driving the 1.2m Gibby (which is a heavy dish)...

this is very true, I was grateful that @Captain Jack was able to come out and fresh install a Technomate one for me

This type of problem can be fixed from happening again by pinning the mount to the mast, ether with a self drilling metal screw (Tek #14) or a through bolt, this keeps the dish mount from moving on the pole.

When using a motor it's best to do this to both the motor mount and the motors dish actuator mast, some of the motors have a hole in the arm for this purpose.
