Dead DreamBox 500s Help please

Ive got a DreamBox 500s that i put gemini on and it shut down because its a clone didnt know that at the time anyway ive left it for some time and i have come across Dreamup and someone has told me to try it

Does it work?

Also ive got a cable but i dont know if its a rs232 or a null cable how can i find out?

Another thing is should the power light be red on the dreambox because mines not or its the bloody power supply

Any help would be great

if its a clone you should flash it with a safe image such as darkstar ll. you could try flashing it again with a safe image. rs232 serial cable and null modem cable look the same. look for the tutorial on how to flash it with dreamup if it works ur box is ok if not u got a brick.
the light at the front should be green when the box is turned on or red when in stand by.
