I am finding I need another PC, it must be Windows 7 32 bit

Found a dell optiplex 745

It's a intell core 2 duo
500gb hdd
4gb ram
Dvd-rw

Windows 7 disk and coa

£54.95 + £9.50 delivery.

Are these units any good ?

Bit of an oldie Chris ...but useable.
Core 2 duo ..
I guess it depends what you want it for ..
but then I did much the same recently.
Personally ...I'd go a bit further up-market.
Quad core minimum..
What kind of dosh do you want to spend ?

I got an Optiplex 990 for running all Aero systems ...
Reasonably fast but still I ended up maxing the CPU ...and memory to make it useful.

64 bit hardware but runs win7 32 bit just fine..

Why win7 32 bit ??
Also...with 64 bit you aren't restricted to 4gb of memory

I need to be able to pull off vids from the dvr.

I had it working with win 8.1 then it updated something and it all stopped working.

Windows 10 will not allow me to install the x.cab file needed, as its unsigned.

But the PC in the other room must be able to view the dvr via my network.

..and would it not work with Win7 64 bit ?

I have the old win7 32 bit PC working with it, but that's on borrowed time, so I want to step in and replace it before it fails.

I guess it would work with 64 bit, but I guess I would have to take a gamble on that.

Worth the Gamble Chris ...and fwiw I can see no reason it would not ..
Basically the same OS ...but more 'versatile' in terms of CPU and memory compatibility.
