just i got this mail,with this text,and this pictures,to my mailbox!


It is unbelievable but unfortunately true!
Every year, these dolphins are brutally slaughtered, because these young men want to prove that they have grown up!
These super-intelligent dolphins have
not shy, they are approaching people
out of pure curiosity!
Forwards the mail!
Let this shame on Denmark known.
Perhaps then listens to this madness

dont know anythink about it,but the pictures arent look good..

does norway,still,also kill so many sharks,are the no reglementations?

Are you sure you got it from a friend you can trust ?

They are not dolphins, or sharks, and I doubt the pictures were taken this year.

These are in fact Pilot Whales. These pictures, even if not recent, are quite appalling.
 
This is an opinion I found on another site:


1. They're not dolphins, they're whales.

2. It's not happening in Denmark, it's happening in the Faroe Islands, an autonomous island with its own government.

3. The whales they're hunting is not an endangered species.

4. This has been going on for hundreds of years, and it is not just some mindless slaughter, they eat the whales they kill. Saying this is wrong is just like saying eating hamburgers is wrong. I bet you more cows are killed for their meat than whales. Just because you don't see it does not mean that it doesn't happen.

Why is it worse if it is a dolphin rather than a cow or a turkey or a cod. It is animals being killed by humans for food as has always happened.

It cant be described as mindless slaughter if it is the equivalent of what goes on in an abbatoir or on a trawler. If it has gone on for hundreds of years in the Faroes it must have been to allow the people to survive in a harsh environment.

Can you find any nice pictures of cows or fish or birds being killed for food. If it's OK for cows but not dolphins how about horses?
 
Ahh, so you didn't just find that garbage on a site, that is in fact your opinion.;)

Dolphins and Whales are highly sentient beings, unlike a cow, fish or perhaps chicken, also large mammals like cows are not hacked to death as are these sea creatures. Your argument is specious and not unlike those who have a vested interest in and wish to perpetuate this type of slaughter.
 
Well put rolfw. Cows, pigs, chickens, and suchlike, are bred for the table and hopefully dispatched in a humane way. Whales and dolphins are highly social and intelligent creatures, and protected in most civilised countries.
