Today I finally got my diablo and cas2 programmer
No it has the latest software already on it so I figured all I need to do is load the latest Underworld 160 file.

I launched the programmer uploaded the file the whole process took 5-6mins but...

when the CAM is placed in my CI slot it does not appear
or
when I tried it in the CAS2 CI I get the message that "CAM Initialising", "CAM not inserted"

I've reformatted the cam and installed Underworld 159 but still the same error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Which cam is it 2.2 or 2.3?

What make/model satellite receiver are you using, or are you using a PCI satellite card?
Is your Cas 2 an older Cas 2 model or a newer Cas 2 plus model?

I'm using the Technotrend 3650ci & DVB Viewer 4.0 which shows the CAM menu option greyed out as if the diablo cam is not inserted.

When I use the duo labs software and click on common interface host I get the initialising CI module, CI module not installed - I've inserted my T-rex cam to make sure the CI was working and the menu etc. appears so I believe the problem is with my diablo cam.

I've gone through formatting several times and updated with Underground 160 - which each time tell me that it was successful but the CI is unable to initialise.

Thanks,

Mickey

What Cas Studio software version are you using?

8.6b downloaded directly from thier website.

If Cas studio recognised the cam and let you program/update it then the problem could be with your top box.

Just one other thing worth trying, in the cams configuration menu did you try setting emulators priority to: 1:Emu - 2:cards. ?

When I go into CAS Studio/Utilities the software is unable to initialise the Diablo CAM, but if I insert a T-Rex CAM it has no problems. Could I have a faulty Diablo CAM even though it says that all software has been updated and gives me the OK.

Do you have access to any other equipment with a CI slot, another satellite receiver, or even one for digital television, that you can test the cam in?
Can you access the file structure, in the Diablo Cam, with your Cas programmer?
Start up the Diablo software, Click on Cam File System and Connect.
You could try using the Restore Backup option, click on Cam Disk Functions, and load backup copy of an underworld file.
If you haven't got access to any other CI slot I'd suggest you return the cam to your supplier, to be checked, explaining that you can program the cam but can't get your receiver to recognize it or the Cas software to initialise it.

Thanks Mickha, no I don't have any other equipment to test the cam on but since my Technotrend and the CAS programming cannot initialise it I'm assuming I've got a broken CAM so I plan on returning it today.

Thanks,

Thinking back I once had a similar problem with my software 8.5c, I removed and re installed it then it recognised the cam!

Also worth a try installing 8.5c and trying it out.
