Did your dish survive the wind

Did every bodies dishes survive the wind last night?
 
Both my shed ones did.Even though I took bit of a gamble with them a couple of times.Most of the time they were parked at o.8 West.The TD88 on the house I have not checked yet .That has been left at 28 East for a long time.
Edit all in order the house one is ok.:)
I am glad that it is over for a bit.I was very boring not being able to do some scanning over the weekend.

The wind was not too bad.

Brussels sprout season starting now though. :(
 
I left mine on 42.0E which was a bit of a silly thing to do as the dish is pretty much upside down when its pointing that way :D but everything seemed to be fine when I checked this morning
 
A few people perished over the weekend though.
 
I only have two dishes on poles atm and only one working dish the 1.2 at high level, she is still tracking as she should,

The 1.5 is still on the test bed with all wires disconnected, l just loosened the pole bolts and let her spin where she wanted, every time I looked through the window she was in a different position, I will pallet her up tomorrow ready for collection.
 
The wind was gusting @ 60 mph here no alignement problems atm but I will check out the set up's at the weekend,
Glad that I did not raise the dishes higher as I had planned above the current wind break :)

Sods law, I've been trying to restrain myself from moving the dish whilst we're expecting heavy winds but this morning, whilst it looked like there was no wind in sight I moved the dish from 52E to 5W and boom, as soon as the thing started moving, there was a strong gust of wind of about 40mph. I watched as the dish and arm started flapping whilst it was on the move! Thankfully, it arrived at 5W fine and the signal as strong as ever but a little worried I've caused some strain/damage to my motor now :(

It's just so bloody difficult to predict when you're about to get a gust of it.
 
You're not wrong.

That said, my main dish (1m) is very exposed and has had to be tweaked a few times since I installed it - yet the motor is still going strong.

And the motor was previously used in the same location for previous dishes.

So don't worry unduly.
 
What I've concluded is, that it's best not to overtighten the motor/dish assembly on your mount. Obviously it helps if the dish is readily accessible and naturally, you must tighten the assembly but I'd sooner the whole lot move slightly on the mount rather than strain the motor gearing or even warp the dish mount.
