Difficult to tune frquency on Eutelsat W2A

hi every body.
i got thomson receiver.and i try to get mgm on w2a 10e on freq: 11663 pol:h sr:3830.but i couldnt.the signal strength keeping jumping between 38,43,51 and 61 up and down.and no quality at all.im using 65cm dish.and i manage to pickup freq:11554 pol:h sr:30000 good signal strength and quality.but no channels tv or radio on it may b that freq.for data.so what should i do.i never get it rit for 2 weeks now.what frequancy i should put it and is there any tricks for that.any1 can help for this problem.thank u.
 
thnx alot patmos.im in cape town so some people said we should use 90cm dish.but im not sure if it the receiver or the dish.or that frequancy some time problem.bcoz i manage to pickup w3a,t12,sirius4 and is7/10.with the same dish.and also i pickup freq 11554h30000 but no channels with good signal about 87% and quality 77%.on the same direction for w2a 10e.but i couldnt mange to pickup mgm as i said b4.can u help me for that.what should i do di get it.thank u.

Kh your posts would be far easier to read if you used proper capitalisation and punctuation. To be honest at the moment your posts are just about unreadable.

Also stop using txt speak like "b4" - many of our members cant read it and in that case you wont get the benefit of the thousands of years experience of our older members.

You seem to understand English well enough, and Im sure you write well enough to use proper capitalisation.

Help - no I cant help much - the South African beam is well out of reach in Europe and we have no chance whasoever of getting it and having a look at the downlink powers. You may find you need a bigger dish for that particular channel.
 
Patmos and Analoguesat

MEA as in Middle East.
I´m writing from Portugal but will move to the Middle East within the next weeks. That´s why i was queryng about the portuguese channels as i read a news somewhere that W2A will be broadcasting to the Middle East as well.

Do you have any good tips ?! I´m a newbie on this but a fast learner ;)

hi patmos.i couldnt get w2a.and i change the dish to bigger 1 90cm.and do the same.but for 11554H30000 it lock and good quality and strength as well.but not 11663H3830.its difficulte.so is there any trick or other freq to get MGM from w2a in africa beam.
 
tugaabroad, I don't think it will cover Middle east. It's the African beam over Madagascar and the Indian ocean islands.

Kh975. This frequency is tricky. I cannot explain why it is not locked on some receivers. My friend just phoned me and complained that his receiver would not locked. It is not a signal level problem, your dish is well pointed. I checked on analyzer both TP s have comparable levels. Up to now we cannot figure out why.
 
thank u patmos.its true what u said.its some receiver cannt lock.but i cannt understand that my self.but i think may b there some think we can do in that kind of receiver so it can lock.bcoz i can feel the signal.it keeping jump between 38,41,54 and 61.but no qulity.i hope we can get solution for that.bcoz im realy want to c MGM.bcoz other ku-band channel not much movies.anyway i sared to get another receiver so can do the same story so i can lose money for no benifet.so what receiver do u think can lock by that channel.there is so many receiver in the market.
 
I struggled a bit this this frequency 11663 MHz. I actually changed the SR from 3830 to 3836 and it is always locked since then.
